Brist MFG - Branded Apparel Design
Brist MFG is a private label apparel agency specializing in branded merchandise for clients. I worked with their design team on a contract basis to support all aspects of design creative and curation for their clients. Select clients include: X Games, Raceface, Grand Targhee Ski Resort, SXSW, Rodeo Austin and more.
The Challenge
At Brist, I worked with their creative team to quickly turn around branded apparel for dozens of their world renowned clients. In order to do so I had to quickly adapt to a quick turn around time the company operates under. To do so I created a simple, clear and easy to use process to take me from concept to final design with little time to familiarize myself with the brand. My goal was always to provide not only great looking pieces, but designs that were own brand and would resonate with their target audiences.

Ski Resorts
A big sector of their client base in outdoor lifestyle and sports companies, including a fair amount of ski resorts. Some came with their own design assets and others needed custom work. Over my work with Brist I provided numerous decks to ski resorts including all types of garments from screen print, embroidery, custom patches and more.
Packaging & Custom Products
Along with apparel, we worked with custom “promotional items” as they called it. This included things like packaging and non traditional apparel products such as towels, glasses, bags etc.
Print Ready Designs
Throughout my time working with Brist I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge relating all things print when it comes to apparel. Designing changes a lot depending on the print method. For example embroidery will loose a lot of detail at a small scale, however something like a woven patch can handle a lot more and can be better suited for a patch on a hat. Additionally it was important to make all added color and material decisions with budget in mind to not provide the customer with a option that can be very expensive.
